Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion: Honoring Pride Month and Beyond
Pride Month is celebrated each June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a pivotal event that helped ignite the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. What began as a single day and later a week of solidarity events has evolved into a month-long global celebration of diversity, equality, and inclusion.
At John Knox Village (JKV), South Florida’s premier Life Plan Community in Pompano Beach, inclusiveness and celebration are part of everyday life.
Many of our LGBTQ+ residents have chosen to make the move to JKV, an active senior living community, after living in Wilton Manors, located just a few miles south of Pompano Beach in Broward County.
