What is John Knox Village looking for in a Volunteer?

John Knox Village is looking for positive and dedicated volunteers to engage with our residents. We ask for a commitment of at least three months from our volunteers. All volunteers must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and follow the steps below.


How do I become a volunteer?

Step 1: Fill out our Volunteer Inquiry form HERE

Step 2: After submitting the form, a member of our team will give you a call

Step 3: If approved to move forward, you will fill out an Application Form and additional documents for your background check and fingerprinting

Step 4: Once we receive your application, we will submit your request for a background check, and you will need to be fingerprinted at John Knox Village.

Step 5: Undergo Drug Screening

Step 6: *If volunteering in a Health Care Department* Volunteers must be screened for Tuberculosis.

Step 7: Once approved by Human Resources, you will attend Volunteer Orientation (orientation dates will be provided upon application approval)

Step 8: Have Fun Volunteering at JKV!


Why do I have to undergo a criminal background check, drug screening, and a 2-phase Tuberculosis skin screening?

John Knox Village volunteers work directly with our residents, resident’s families, and employees. To protect our residents and John Knox Village, we require criminal background checks of staff, board members, and volunteers. Drug and 2-phase Tuberculosis skin screening is also required of our employees and volunteers.

All information in the application and acquired through the background check will remain confidential and be used only for screening purposes.
