John Knox Village is a Life Plan Retirement Community encompassing a full range of independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care options for more than 1,000 residents. Since 1967, John Knox Village has been a home to an eclectic mix of “realistic idealists,” who believe in planning for an uncertain future while enjoying a fulfilling present.

Our residents have chosen John Knox Village because Life Care provides a lifetime of assurance, and because our 70-acre, not-for-profit community supports them in whatever endeavor they can desire or imagine.

John Knox Village offers lifetime housing with all maintenance included and peace of mind knowing that our residents’ future health care needs are guaranteed. John Knox Village is more than just inclusive; it’s a welcoming family that greets each new resident and staff member with open arms.

History of John Knox Village

In September of 1967, Baptist Village of Pompano Beach first opened its doors as a retirement community for seniors. Dr. Mack R. Douglas, a minister from Margate, gathered a few friends and proposed building the community, which consisted of a group of villas to be leased to seniors for the balance of their lives.

Since then, the name has changed to John Knox Village and we have grown to our current 70-acre campus that is home to more than 900 residents with a caring staff of 650 employees.
